Executive Director, Ment'or - New York, NY

Young Yun is the Executive Director at Ment’or, a 501(c)(3) charity established by Chefs Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller, and Jérôme Bocuse.  In this role, she drives the Foundation’s mission to promote and drive culinary excellence in our profession. Young develops the overall strategic vision and focuses on programs which continue to elevate the organization, while working to ensure that Team USA has the support it needs to compete on a global stage at the Bocuse d’Or competition. She was a critical part of the success that led to Team USA’s 2015 Silver Medal and Team USA’s 2017 Gold Medal wins. Under her leadership, she also spearheaded the re-branding of the Foundation and launched new educational and training programs to support young chefs and restaurants across America.

Young is a key element in the continued growth for Ment’or, working with the country’s most renowned chefs, including the Board, and the organization’s Culinary Council – a network of over sixty leaders who provide their professional expertise and knowledge – to find new collaborative ways to grow and inspire excellence both for those working in the profession and those that are avid fans of the culinary world.

Prior to joining Ment’or, Young had a successful career at American Express, leading the Consumer Card Dining & Entertainment benefits and driving value and customer loyalty through the Cardmember programs and services. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong expertise in developing and implementing a strategic vision, providing strong leadership and clear direction to drive organizational growth, innovation, and operational excellence across the US and globally for high profile, highly respected Fortune 100 and 500 brands. She is on the Board at Ment’or, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and lives in New York City with her 3 children.
