Tsubasa Nakagawa is the Chef and Kitchen Manager of Han no Daidokoro Waikiki, where he leads the kitchen team with precision, consistency, and a deep respect for the art of Japanese yakiniku. With over a decade of culinary experience across Japan and Hawaii, Nakagawa brings a refined sensibility to his craft, shaped by years of hands-on leadership in high-volume, quality-driven kitchens.
Nakagawa began his culinary career in 2013 as a line cook at Han no Daidokoro Keikyu-Kawasaki in Kanagawa, Japan. His dedication and skill quickly led him to more senior roles within the Foodrim Co. group, including chef positions at Yakiniku Bar Han no Daidokoro in Tokyo’s bustling Shibuya district and kitchen manager at Tonchan-Tei in Kawasaki.
In 2022, Tsubasa Nakagawa brought his talents to Hawai‘i, joining Han no Daidokoro Kakaako as Kitchen Manager. There, he played a pivotal role in maintaining the brand’s reputation for authentic Japanese barbecue and exceptional hospitality. His leadership and commitment to culinary excellence led to his promotion as Chef/Kitchen Manager of the Waikiki location in 2024.
