Rhoda Magbitang is the new Executive Chef at Canoe House. Growing up in the Philippines as the oldest of 6 children, her parents divided the chores amongst the household. Magbitang chose to cook for her family, a task that ignited her love for feeding people great food.

One day, during an after-school program Magbitang was teaching the children how to make snacks at home. The activity evoked her childhood memories of cooking for her family and ultimately, she went to culinary school to pursue her passion.

She then followed suit at Le Petit Ermitage in Los Angeles. For the last three years Rhoda Magbitang oversaw the culinary program at The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern in Los Olivos which has garnered great accolades and recognition.
