At Highgate, Kelly Sanders oversees the management of a thriving portfolio of properties that now lead Hawaii’s hospitality industry – including the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, Romer House Waikiki, Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows and Kaimana Beach Hotel, just to name a few, with a portfolio of more than 10 hotels. In 2024 alone, he launched 11 new restaurants. An accomplished industry expert and concept innovator, Sanders brings more than 30 years of progressive hospitality experience, including 21 years with Marriott / Starwood.

Kelly Sanders was appointed a board member of the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) by Governor of Hawaii David Ige. In addition to his extensive background in hospitality, Sanders is active in sustainable philanthropy including the Hawaii Legacy Reforestation Initiative (HLRI), a non-profit organization committed to returning the indigenous koa, milo and sandalwood trees back to the Hawaiian Islands. He supports numerous organizations Including Diamond Head Theatre as a board member, March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, American Heart Association, Hawaii Symphony Orchestra and many more.
