Kealoha Domingo

Nui Kealoha - Honolulu, HI

Chef Kealoha Domingo is the chef/owner of Nui Kealoha, a Native Hawaiian-owned and operated food business rooted in cultural heritage, community, and a deep connection to the land. A multi-generational Hawaiian practitioner, Domingo approaches his craft with a profound respect for traditional practices and values. His culinary philosophy reflects a genuine aloha for the aina (land), kanaka (people), and mea ai (food), blending ancestral wisdom with a contemporary flair that honors the past while embracing the present.

Through Nui Kealoha, Domingo brings people together with nourishing meals grounded in cultural authenticity and a spiritual connection to place. His mission goes beyond simply feeding others—he is committed to uplifting Hawaiian foodways and advocating for indigenous culinary traditions on a global stage. As the Global Indigenous Food movement continues to grow, Domingo plays a vital role in reconnecting communities to ancestral foods, philosophies, and sustainable practices that serve both present and future generations.

Kealoha Domingo’s work has garnered national and international recognition. He has been featured at prestigious events including the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival, the Indigenous Chef Expo in Minnesota, the James Beard House in New York, the Taiwan Indigenous Slow Foods gathering in Hualien, and an international collaboration with Chef Sean Sherman in Italy. Whether at home in Hawaii or abroad, Domingo remains a proud ambassador of Hawaiian culture and cuisine.

Nui Kealoha’s latest venture is located within the historic Capitol Modern (formerly the Hawai‘i State Art Museum) in Downtown Honolulu. This vibrant cultural hub celebrates the arts and traditions of Hawai‘i through interactive programs and exhibitions, and now, through food that tells a story of place and identity.
