Brittany Cheatham has been on the forefront of craft cocktails both in Hawaii and on the mainland for the past 22 years, and has consistently been a featured mixologist at Beam Suntory’s Annual “A Whiskey Affair” pre-prohibition event, as well as Hawaii Food Manufacturers Awards, and Mangoes at the Moana.
Crediting inspiration from her hospitality peers and predecessors, Brittany’s passion for mixology led her on a self-guided tour down the rabbit hole of cocktail culture, first curating cocktail programs for Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel and Basalt, before leading the bar team at Stripsteak Waikiki. Brittany’s forward trajectory then propelled her to the continental U.S., to revamp the bar menu for Bourbon Steak in Los Angeles, CA. She continued on to help open Issima in West Hollywood, and consulted for Nusr-Et Steakhouse in Beverly Hills, before returning to Hawaii to open Talk Kaimuki, where her mission has been to create a gathering space where people feel safe to mingle and celebrate.
For Brittany, every cocktail tells a story, every ingredient is intentional. Talk Kaimuki won Bronze in Hale Aina Awards’ Best Bar category for 2025, for being a haven where, through collaboration with Oahu’s best bar professionals, spirits are showcased and shared, and knowledge is passed on to the next generation. Brittany’s business moto is that genuine hospitality and integrity is a better path to profit because it’s one the whole community benefits from.
