Tannya Joaquin

Tannya Joaquin is an award-winning News Anchor at KITV with more than two decades of broadcast journalism experience. A UCLA graduate, she launched her television career in California and Ohio before making Hawaii her home in 2002.

Tannya is the host of Learning Local, an education reporting franchise highlighting the students, educators, and innovative programs shaping Hawaii’s schools. She earned an Emmy nomination for her coverage of the 2013 Honolulu Harbor molasses spill and was the first Hawaii broadcaster to incorporate social media into local newscasts.

A proud mother of two, Tannya enjoys golfing, scuba diving, enjoying Hawaii’s culinary scene and exploring the beauty of Hawaii.
