Philana Bouvier

Demeine Estates - Napa Valley, CA

Philana Bouvier is a global luxury fine wine executive with more than 25 years of experience leading commercial strategy, brand development, and international business growth across every major route to market.

As President of Demeine Estates, she oversees four core areas of the business: worldwide sales and marketing for the Lawrence Wine Estates portfolio; Demeine Estates’ U.S. import, sales, and marketing organization; international export strategy across key global markets; and Global Travel Retail, where she has led the expansion of the company’s presence with leading airlines, airports, cruise lines, and duty free partners.

Since joining Demeine Estates in 2021, Philana has built and led a best-in-class sales and commercial organization, assembling a high-performing leadership team that has positioned Demeine Estates among the fastest-growing luxury wine companies in the United States during one of the most challenging periods for the global wine industry. As consumer demand has softened across much of the luxury wine category, she has led the company’s continued expansion through strategic brand building, market expansion, and growth across domestic distribution, exports, and travel retail.

Today, Philana oversees one of the industry’s most comprehensive luxury wine portfolios, representing family-owned wineries across Napa Valley, Sonoma, Champagne, Burgundy, Chablis, Bordeaux, Sancerre, Tuscany, Veneto, Sicily, and other renowned wine regions. She also leads the worldwide commercial strategy for the Lawrence Wine Estates portfolio, including Heitz Cellar, Stony Hill, Ink Grade, Burgess, Château Lascombes, and other distinguished estates, while directing export growth across many of the world’s most important fine wine markets, including UK, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Dubai, and key markets throughout Western Europe.

Prior to joining Demeine Estates, Philana held one of the highest-ranking sales and commercial leadership positions at Republic National Distributing Company as Vice President of Fine Wine and Supplier Business Development. Her legacy in U.S. wholesale distribution extends beyond commercial leadership. A longtime advocate for advancing women in the industry, she served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America Women’s Leadership Council and was a founding member of its Advisory Board, helping create greater opportunities for women in executive leadership. She previously served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Young’s Hawaii, becoming the first non-family female executive to lead statewide sales, marketing, and operations for a major alcohol distributor in the United States.

Philana has been recognized among the wine industry’s most influential leaders, including Wine Enthusiast’s Future 40 Tastemakers, the Trailblazer Award from the North Bay Business Journal Women in Wine Awards, recognition by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business, and SevenFifty Daily’s Drink Innovator of the Year. Her leadership and market insights have been featured in Forbes, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Bar & Restaurant, and other leading business and wine publications, as well as across industry podcasts and media platforms.

Few executives in the global wine industry have led commercial strategy across every major route to market. Philana’s experience spans worldwide sales and marketing, imports, exports, Global Travel Retail, and luxury brand development, bringing together more than 25 years of leadership across the distributor, importer, supplier, and winery sectors. Today, she is recognized for building commercial platforms that connect some of the world’s most prestigious wine estates supporting the long-term growth of luxury wine.
