Jon Miyabuchi serves as Region President of FreshPoint Hawaii, overseeing statewide produce distribution
operations across Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii Island. Under his leadership, FreshPoint Hawaii has earned national
recognition as FreshPoint’s Region of the Year in fiscal year 2025 while strengthening its position as a vital link between Hawaii’s agricultural producers and the state’s retail, hospitality, foodservice, and institutional markets. FreshPoint Hawaii (formerly Armstrong Produce) is Hawaii’s largest and only statewide distributor of produce.
A passionate advocate for Hawaii agriculture, Jon believes that building a sustainable local food system requires more than simply encouraging consumers to buy local. It requires creating an economically viable agricultural ecosystem where farmers can grow their businesses, distributors can operate efficiently, and customers have reliable access to high-quality, locally grown products.
Through strategic partnerships with Hawaii’s farming community, Jon has helped increase FreshPoint Hawaii’s
statewide locally grown produce mix from approximately 30% to 40%, with an ambitious goal of reaching 50%. His efforts focus on expanding market access for local producers, strengthening supply chain resilience, and
bridging the gap between agricultural production and commercial demand.
Beyond his role at FreshPoint, Jon serves on the boards of the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation and the University of Hawaii Alumni Association, reflecting his commitment to advancing local agriculture, education, and the long-term prosperity of Hawaii.
Prior to joining FreshPoint Hawaii, Jon held executive leadership positions across multiple industries, including Executive Vice President of United Laundry Services, and Vice President of Retail Operations for Hawaii Petroleum.
Jon holds a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Arts in
English Literature from the University of Hawaii.
