Jason C. Chang joined The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS) in 2015 as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. He later led Innovation and Strategy efforts as President of the QHS Innovation Institute and was subsequently appointed President and CEO in 2024.

An accomplished healthcare executive, his leadership experience includes both for-profit and non-profit healthcare sectors. His background includes hospital and health system management; ambulatory service and clinical program development; quality and service improvement; managing tertiary/quaternary services in a teaching hospital environment; clinical integration and physician network development; strategic development of innovation and technologies.

He received his Bachelor of Science from Northern Arizona University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Jason currently serves as the chair for the Vizient West Coast Network Board and is also a member of the American Hospital Association’s Health Systems Committee. Locally, he is a board member for both the Healthcare Association of Hawaii and the St. Francis Healthcare System.

Queen’s is a nonprofit corporation that was established to provide expanded health care capabilities to the people of Hawaii and the Pacific Basin. Although established in 1985, Queen’s legacy of caring for the people of Hawaii dates back to 1859, when King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma founded The Queen’s Hospital to stem the tide of diseases during a time when epidemics were sweeping the islands.

Today, Queen’s is Hawaii’s oldest and preeminent family of health care-related companies that includes six hospitals, including The Queen’s Medical Center, a 575-bed acute care facility that is the state’s only Level I trauma center; a diagnostic laboratory; a home care agency; ambulatory care facilities; over 10,000 employees and more than 1,500 affiliated physicians and providers in its statewide network.

Jason remains deeply committed to the legacy and mission of the hospital’s founders in meeting the health care needs of the community and to provide in perpetuity, quality health care services to improve the well-being of Native Hawaiians and all the people of Hawaii.
