Originally from Liverpool, England, Christian Self quickly made a name for himself in Hawaii as Mixologist & Bar Manager for artsy Chinatown loft, ThirtyNineHotel, and Beverage Specialist at posh nightclub, The Waikiki Edition. After winning “World’s Best Mai Tai” at the 2010 Don the Beachcomber Mai Tai Festival competition in Kona, Hawaii, Christian went on to open Bevy in 2013, promptly hailed as a renowned craft cocktail bar in Kakaako, followed quickly by Tacoako, a tasty taco eatery next door. Always looking to help others in furtherance of the Hawaii craft cocktail scene, Christian started, Sidebar, a hospitality consulting company which assists with the opening, repositioning or rebranding of restaurants and bars. Christian is currently a Mixologist and Sprits Educator for Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits in Hawaii, where he creates cocktail menus and provides education for hotels and restaurants on Oahu, Maui & Kauai islands.
