With over two decades of experience in the culinary arts, Yamamoto’s journey began in the kitchens of the highly regarded Four Seasons Resort in the Big Island, where he developed a passion for cooking and an appreciation for fresh, seasonal ingredients.
He honed his skills in renowned restaurants such as Merriman’s in Waimea and working under acclaimed chefs such as Michelin-starred chef Massimo Falsini, who inspired him to push the boundaries of flavor and presentation. Yamamoto’s culinary style marries traditional techniques with contemporary twists, creating dishes that are not only delicious but also visually stunning. In 2024, with his Chef partner Alessandro Taras, he opened his flagship restaurant, Walua Social, which is quickly gaining recognition for its Big Island farm-to-table philosophy and commitment to sustainability.
Beyond the kitchen, Chad Yamamoto is a passionate advocate for culinary education and sustainability.
