B.J. Kobayashi

B.J. Kobayashi has devoted his 25+ year career to real estate investment, lending and property development in Hawaii. He is the Chairman and CEO of BlackSand Capital and co-founder and a senior partner at Kobayashi Group.

Mr. Kobayashi graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Business with a focus in International Business. He is also a graduate of Georgetown Law Center and a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association.

Mr. Kobayashi served on the board of directors of Hawaiian Electric Company, board of trustees of the Hawaiian Tax Free Trust, and is a council leader member of the U.S. Japan Council. He also serves on the Board of Regents of Georgetown University.

B.J. Kobayashi dedicates time and resources to a variety of non-profit work including affordable housing and education.
