Alfonso Acevedo is an accomplished culinary leader and Executive Chef with more than 26 years of experience within the T S Restaurants family. Known for his people-first leadership style, operational excellence, and deep commitment to hospitality, Acevedo currently serves as Chef of Duke’s Beach House Maui, where he leads kitchen operations with a strong focus on teamwork, consistency, mentorship, and the spirit of aloha.

Originally from California, Acevedo moved to Maui in the early 1990s and began his culinary journey washing dishes while learning the rhythm and discipline of professional kitchens. Acevedo steadily worked his way through nearly every position in the kitchen, from Dishwasher. Prep Cook and Line Cook to Kitchen Supervisor and Executive Chef building a reputation for hard work, adaptability, and genuine care for both guests and employees.

In 1999, Acevedo joined T S Restaurants as a Night Line Cook at the iconic Kimo’s Lahaina under Corporate Chef Scott McGill. Through years of dedication, growth, and leadership development, he became Chef of Kimo’s in 2011, helping guide one of Maui’s most beloved restaurants for over two decades. Following the devastating loss of Kimo’s in the Lahaina fires, Acevedo continued supporting the Maui restaurant community and T S Restaurants family during an incredibly challenging time, reinforcing his reputation as a compassionate and steady leader.

His leadership philosophy centers on communication, accountability, consistency, and creating an environment where employees feel respected, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Acevedo’s culinary background also includes experience with several respected Maui establishments, including Pacific’O, Planet Hollywood, Longhi’s, Aloha Mixed Plate and the Old Lahaina Luau. His expertise spans menu development, large-scale event execution, kitchen systems, team development, and operational management, all while maintaining a strong connection to Hawaii’s hospitality culture and local community.

Today, Alfonso Acevedo continues to lead with humility, passion, and aloha committed to creating memorable dining experiences, developing strong kitchen teams, and carrying forward the culture and traditions that have defined his career for more than three decades.
