Three Culinary Experiences at NEW Foodland Venues

HONOLULU (November 20, 2020)—Hawai‘i Food & Wine Festival (HFWF) announces three culinary experiences in partnership with Foodland Super Market, Ltd. Holiday Cheer: A Weekend of Culinary Events presented by Hawai‘i Food and Wine Festival + Foodland consists of a trio of events, taking place in December 2020 at three recently opened Foodland venues, including the brand new restaurant and bar, et al., at the grocery store concept, KAHALA MKT. by Foodland, Redfish Poke Bar and Mahi‘ai Table at Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i.

Over the weekend of December 11–13, 2020, attendees are invited to celebrate the closing of 2020, and cheer in a new year. The three events in the collaboration series include:

et al. at KAHALA MKT. by Foodland
Description: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, as Colin Hazama reunites with his former sous chef from The Royal Hawaiian, Colin Sato, who is now the chef de cuisine at et al., a new full-service restaurant, bar and neighborhood eatery at the newly opened KAHALA MKT. Together with Foodland’s pastry chef Brian Sung, the trio will create a four-course dinner featuring a seasonal menu reflecting a melting pot of cultural ingredients and cooking techniques. To get you in the holiday “spirit,” each course will be carefully paired with specialty cocktails featuring Maker’s Mark®, Maker’s Mark 46®, Suntory® Whisky Toki and Suntory ROKU® Gin created by et al.’s bar manager and HFWF mixologist Kenny Lum.

Redfish Poke Bar
Description: If you’ve been good this year, treat yourself to a four-course collaboration lunch to celebrate Redfish Poke Bar’s one year anniversary with executive chef Reid Matsumura and chef and owner of The Pig & The Lady, Andrew Le. Whet your appetite with bar snacks, followed by a bespoke poke dish, which will allow you to play with your senses and have chef Reid create your very own special version of the perfect poke. Chef Andrew will present the main course, followed by a sweet treat to-go and jingle all the way home.

Description: The HFWF x Foodland weekend of culinary events culiminates with the best brunch to “cheers” the holiday season! Free-flowing mimosa and bloody mary beverage carts will keep your glasses full as Darryl Shinogi from Roy’s Ko Olina partners with Mahiai Table’s chef de cuisine Jonathan Donoghue to highlight local ingredients to create a special three-course brunch menu. We wish you a happy holidays filled with island flavors and bottomless beverages to ring in the new year!
