Within a few months of becoming the ninth Master Sommelier in the United States on his first attempt, Larry Stone became won the prestigious Best International Sommelier in French Wines (Grand Prix de Sopexa) competition in Paris. His career spans over 30 years as a restaurateur and sommelier at the Four Seasons, Charlie Trotter’s, and Rubicon Restaurant, winning three James Beard Awards along the way and multiple awards for wine lists he has created and curated. He has worked as the Gérant for Inglenook, the Estate Director for Quintessa, and as the President and co-creator of Evening Land wineries. Larry has served on the board of the James Beard Foundation and Kronos Quartet and mentored many successful chefs and sommeliers. He is currently featured in the acclaimed documentary about Charlie Trotter, Love, Charlie. His career culminates at Lingua Franca where he cultivates an exceptional vineyard and grows world-class wines.
