Manu Boyd is a cutural consultant for Kamehameha Schools and kumu hula of Hālau o ke ʻAʻaliʻi Kū Makani. He has been a haumāna of Kumu Hula Robert Cazimero/Hālau Nā Kamalei O Līlīlehua since 1978. Boyd graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Center for Hawaiian Studies and Kamehameha Schools Kapālama.
His Hawaiian culture-based career has included positions at Bishop Museum, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Royal Hawaiian Center and Kamehameha Schools. Boyd is also a long time leader of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu, established by Prince Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole in 1918.
Boyd is a multi Nā Hōkū award winner as a recording artist and haku mele/composer. He has also served as broadcast commentator at the Merrie Monarch Festival for many years.
