Jorge Granda was born and raised in Lima, Peru. At age 19, he moved to the United States with his parents. He spent most of his time helping his mother in the kitchen and was inspired by how food can tell a story. He built an interest and passion for different cuisines living in multicultural cities like Miami.
Granda graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Miami, in 2011. His degree allowed him to learn different techniques and work in several culinary teams that helped to refine his communication and leadership skills. He learned the cuisines of many countries like France, Japan, Brazil, and Italy.
Jorge Granda has more than 12 years of experience as a food preparation specialist in hotels and private companies and is very excited to be part of the team at Mauna Kea Beach Hotels & Resorts.
