Jason Vendrell is the sommelier and beverage director for Handcrafted Restaurants, overseeing the bar programs for Moku Kitchen in Kakaako, the Beach House in Kauai and Monkeypod Kitchen locations in Ko Olina, Kaanapali and Wailea. All five restaurants focus on bringing fresh, high-quality ingredients and craft bar sensibilities to a high-volume setting. While honored to have won some awards and recognition, Jason is most passionate about hospitality and creating memorable experiences with warmth and aloha.
Growing up in Kula, on the island of Maui, Jason started his career picking pineapples, installing irrigation and selling shoes at a department store before ultimately finding his raison d’etre in the food and beverage industry. He can hardly believe he gets paid to do this.
