Foodland and the Sullivan Family of Companies - Honolulu, HI

Chef Brian Sung began his career at Foodland and The Sullivan Family of Companies in December 2019, and he didn’t waste any time creating delicious new pastry and dessert offerings for Foodland’s 33 stores statewide. Offerings such as Foodland’s Ube Cake, Rainbow Delight, Okinawan Sweet Potato Haupia Cake and Chocolate Kinako Cream Pie have been favorites among customers.

Sung also developed the breakfast pastries and desserts for Mahi’ai Table at Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali’i, and will be creating the offerings for Foodland’s new store and restaurant opening this November in Kahala.

A graduate of the California School of Culinary Arts/Le Cordon Bleu, Sung honed his skills at the Ritz Carlton in California, as well as notable restaurants including 231 Ellsworth in San Mateo, and Michael Mina and RN74 in San Francisco.  In Hawaii, he was the Pastry Chef at Alan Wongs Restaurant, Executive Pastry Chef at Honolulu Coffee Company, and Pastry Chef at The Kahala Hotel & Resort before joining Foodland and the Sullivan Family of Companies as Corporate Pastry Chef.
