California native Brian Sung joined Honolulu Coffee as pastry chef in 2016, after spending most of his career with the Michael Mina Group in San Francisco. Under the tutelage of pastry chef Lincoln Carson, Sung advanced within the group to eventually run the pastry program at Mina’s RN74. Then in 2014, Sung moved to Honolulu to become pastry chef at Alan Wong’s Restaurant.
He brings with him several years of experience with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, an Associate’s degree in Occupational Studies from California School of Culinary Arts/Le Cordon Bleu, and a Bachelor’s Degree in economics from Ohio Wesleyan University. Sung continues to bring new ideas to the Honolulu Coffee culinary program.
