Hamada General Store - Honolulu, HI

Hamada General Store traces its roots back to the original H. Hamada Store, which began as a grocery store catering to local clientele on Queen St. in 1958 before closing its doors in 2007. Now, it has transformed into a take-out/catering restaurant, firmly grounded in the values upheld by its predecessor, proudly serving the community with Aloha.

Founded in 2008 by Cuatro Food, Inc., Hamada General Store was the brainchild of Neil Nakasone, John Estrella, and Brandon Hamada. These three partners first crossed paths and collaborated in opening the Pineapple Room at Macy’s in 1999. Building on their shared experience and vision, they embarked on a mission to redefine the culinary landscape of Sports Bars in Hawaii, simultaneously launching Kanpai and Home Bar & Grill in 2008.

The overarching vision of Hamada General Store is to perpetuate the legacy of delivering delectable cuisine infused with a strong sense of place, always accompanied by the spirit of Aloha.
