Nationally lauded chef Alex Stratta’s award-studded career includes the three-time recognition with a two-star rating by the Michelin Guide (for his late namesake restaurant Alex in Las Vegas), Best Chef Southwest James Beard Foundation Award, countless AAA Five Diamond Awards, and inclusion in Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs issue. He has appeared on Top Chef Masters (he was a finalist) and Iron Chef America.
Stratta has led the kitchen of incredible restaurants around the globe including Mary Elaine’s in Phoenix, Alex and Stratta restaurants inside the Wynn Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and Prado at the Omni Montelucia Resort in Scottsdale. In addition, Stratta worked under renowned chefs Alain Ducasse at Louis XV at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco, and at Le Cirque under Daniel Boulud.
In his new position as culinary director at MATCH: Restaurant & Lounge inside the FOUND:RE Hotel in Phoenix, Stratta revamped the menu at the wood-fired, locally focused restaurant.
“We tested new recipes and sought the perfect balance of flavor and relatable dishes that suit the tastes of our local residents and out-of-town guests,” says Stratta. “The wood-fired oven and grill continues to take center stage as we evolve our menu.”
Stratta’s new menu debuted in September, and he and his impressive culinary team continues to create crave-worthy yet simple menu items with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients presented in an artful and familiar way.
