CALLING ALL KEIKI CULINARY SUPERSTARS!

The Hawaii Gas Presents Localicious® Recipe & Video Contest is a fun cooking competition for kids to show off their talents in the kitchen and create a unique recipe featuring a locally grown, raised or caught product! All participants will be asked to submit an original recipe with a completed dish photo and, for students in grades 9-12, a 2-4 minute video demonstrating the recipe highlighting a local ingredient. A panel of judges will review the recipes and videos to select the top three (3) recipes from two grade categories: Grades 4-8 and 9-12.

Entries (recipes and videos) can be submitted through the HFWF online submission form between August 15 – September 23, 2022. The 2-4 minute video will allow each student to showcase their culinary skills while demonstrating their original recipe for celebrity chef judges to determine the finalists in each category.

The top three finalists in each grade category will be invited to prepare their dish LIVE in front of an audience, and present their dish for tasting and scoring by three chef judges at the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival’s Hawaii Gas Presents Localicious® Recipe & Video Contest Cookoff event in Honolulu, Hawaii. Cash scholarships will be awarded for first, second and third place winners in grades 9-12 and Apple gift cards will be awarded to first, second and third place winners in grades 4-8. Winners will be announced at the live Cookoff event on October 15, 2022.
